My Latest Finds at Goodwill

This past Sunday I found a couple of great things at Goodwill!

I've added another duck tureen to my collection!  I've found about six different duck tureens at Goodwill.

And I took these two gold shelfs and spray painted them a cream color.

And hung them up in my kitchen...I still need to put in picture in the frame or figure out something else to put there.

But for now, we're off to Vegas for the weekend to celebrate my birthday!

And we're going to see...

Summer Cookies for My Birthday!

In three days, I turn 50 years old and it doesn't bother me in the least.

I'm going to make some cute summer cookies to take to work tomorrow...

These cookies look like beachballs and so clever but I need something a litle quicker..
And these slipper cookies are adorable but you know how some people are about coconut?

I saw these cookies and this is what I'm talking about! Aren't they the cutest cookies ever?
Bonus - simple and quick to make!
Pepperidge Farm cookies, frosting, string licorice and gummie worms...

Everybody is going to think I'm so clever!  :P

My Thrifty Weekend!

Yesterday I had planned to go to a Quilt show but I was on the road before it started. I went to a junk shop that I had recently discovered, they only open once a month and this was the weekend.

I sercretively took some pictures

I've been on the lookout for a footstool and love this one...just a little to big for my office.

This was a really cute set up in the bathroom...lots of pretty things everywhere..

I got this cute picture of a girl looking at a bird...

and this sewing box and antique picnic basket...

Several years ago I got this picture at a flea market...

And I love how they look together..

Sunday Blog Love - 3rd Linky Party!

It's Sunday and that means it's time for Sunday Blog Love and this week I'm highlighting

Jennifer at  Simple Flourishes.

She makes the most beautiful cards. I should know, at Christmas time - I bought quite a few of them...and I hope you'll agree she is talented.

What a great card for that tea lover?

And how fun would this to be make and give to someone?

These little notebooks are so cute!

What a fun birthday card!

I bought this one for my Ashley, she was born on Valentine's Day.

This would be a great gift for that hard to buy person.

What teacher wouldn't love to have one of these?

I just love gingerbread men and bought this one for me!

This one wasn't for sale but guess who would've bought it was for sale?
LOL

So now it's time for you to highlight someone else's blog...

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary - How Does Your Garden Grow?

This summer has been the perfect summer for our landscaping....

The white lillies bloomed...we planted them last year and forgot about them...I've never seen white ones before!

This row of hostas is on the side of our garage and they look perfect and so healthy! This picture was taken earlier this month but they are much bigger now!

I love russian sage but it tends to take over...

Everything is so green, could be the 3 inches of rain we got overnight this week followed by 85% humidity?!?

I never knew hostas could get this big!

The bunny hides in the landscaping, but we do have a real bunny who visits us often.

Here's our tomato plants and DH planted cucumbers underneath it. Does this make a statement or not?

And talk about fun trying to pick the tomatoes. The ripe ones are buried deep inside!

You'll have to look very closely, there is a bird bath in there!

How beautiful and in my backyard!

With all the rain and humidity, our landscaping is really taking off this year!

More flowers about ready to bloom!

Next year we're planning on building a shed, just past the pink flowers and do some fun landscaping around it...

But for today, I'm going to a Quilt Show in town. Thanks Jen for telling me about it!
Happy Saturday!

My Vintage Necklace

You've seen those necklaces made out of washers, some are stamped and some are covered with scrapbook paper..

And I had to make myself one...

I bought the chain and the sand dollar charm at Hobby Lobby and got this cute typewriter key at a rummage sale...

And here's my vintage necklace....
