Less is Really More!

Next weekend is our town annual citywide rummage and this year I am determined
to reduce and elimate the need for a storage unit..
DH and I spent today going through our unit and started pulling out containers
and brought them home for the rummage sale..

Here's one side of the unit...I have so many tubs full of Christmas things...
I'm a sucker for Christmas things..but I am committed to reducing what I have...
and that means everything in the unit...seriously needs to be purged...

In the middle of the storage unit is where the snow blower is kept in the summer
and in the winter time, the lawn mower stays here...

And now after we went through all the containers,
this is what is considered...the good stuff...
My flower pots and outside things are still in the unit to be used after the sale is over...
If our weather ever warms up again..it's been in the 40's lately...

Here's what's left over of the Christmas things and
there are three tubs that hold a set of dishes/acessories that I can't part with....
Next step is to pull things out under the steps in the house
Purging is hard work...
but I'm going with the theory of
"Less is Really More"

For the next two weeks, I'll be busy getting ready for the rummage...
I did go to a city wide rummage this week in Sioux Falls and I'll show you my finds very soon
as well as what my daughter found for Macie......so many cute baby girl clothes..and of course...shoes!
Does your city/town have a city wide rummage?
I've got a new sponsor...Isaboo Designs and a giveaway later on this week!

My Latest Organizational Tool for $20!

Here's my latest organizational bin that I got for my scrapbook table...
I love this revolving tray bin that I picked up from Harbor Freight...
for $19.99, it's really affordable...

So after my DH put it together. I think it took him three hours and a thousand screws - I started adding some of my supplies for easy reach...
but I wasn't liking the black...nothing in this room is black...
so it was time to spray paint it white...
And I love it so much more now!

On the top shelf, I have my glimmer mists & glues..and I tucked in my hand lotion....

The second tray has my washi tape(love it!

The third tray holds my stapler and some distressing tools, I'm sure that I'll be rearranging this many times over as time goes on...

I love how much stuff it holds, and makes keeping things organized but also within reach...

I love when the table is cleared off and ready for the next project
or in my case...finishing one of my projects!

Do you see that aqua blue photo album? Getting ready to fill it with new
pictures of my grandbaby, Macie...

Five months old....I love her so!
Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great week!

My Social Story - Part One

This weekend I participated in True Scrap 3, which is a scrapbooking inspiration taught by 15 different well known paper crafters...and besr of all...I logged in right from home...

One of the classes was entitled, Glitter and Geeketry:My Social Story taught by Monica Bradford...
and I was inspired to put together an album showing how the social media is
a part of my life...When she said that someday...maybe even next year...our social
media will be a completely different place...and how perfect to document it!

I started listing all the social medias:
Blogs
Pinterest
Etsy
eBay
Google
Skype
ipad
Yahoo
text messaging...

And in no time I was able to put together two layouts...
and it was really fun!

My first layout was to showcase Pinterest...
truth be known,  I might love Pinterest more than blogs right now..

Won't this be so weird to read even in a few years?

For the other layout, I picked some items from my blog...
and it came together rather quickly...

And I added my blog buttons, I wonder how blogging will even be in a couple of years.....

Stay tuned for more layouts next week...
Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Sunday Song - American Bandstand

This past week we learned that Dick Clark passed away from a heart attack...
I watched American Bandstand faithfully every Saturday for one hour...
what was not to love about the show...
the dancing, the clothes...and most of all the music...

This week I have three videos that best depict what made American Bandstand so special...
which maybe brings back memories or gives you a glimpse of why I loved American Bandstand...

This next two videos are a great representation of disco music but also what the show was about..
I might be one of the few that loved disco music...

Peter Brown - Dance With Me

Abba - Dancing Queen

Sending my sympathy to Dick Clarks family..
he will surely be missed!
