Waterglobe Redone With Ribbon?

Yesterday I showed a picture of my Precious Moments waterglobe..

It seems to be normal for the water to evaporate or even get discolored with time..but I thought I could give it new life.

I asked DH if he could remove the globe so that I could have the figurine...

And he drilled a hole in the plastic and drained the water out. Then he cut around the base and carefully removed the bottom part and this is what I was left with.

Now that this part was done, it was time for me to make it into something fun and new, let me know what you think.

I got out my ribbon stash.....

and made a super cute tassel!

Is this not the cutest thing ever? So next time you see a waterglobe and some of the water has evaporated...

think about turning it into a tassel!

My inspiration came from Forever Decorating and she has a full tutorial.
She's made lots of great tassels, stop over there and see if you're not inspired too!

I also have a weekend linky party, please come back and share your project of the week!

I'm linking to these parties..

  7. I wish I had seen this post last year. I had a pretty globe with a rose inside. It lost most of it's water, then I think it broke in the attic. Not knowing what to do with it, I threw it away.

Very creative to reuse yours in such a fun way.
