My Latest Smash Book - Subject - Our Puppy, Coco

Back in August, I shared my latest Smash book that I'm working on.
The title/subject for this Smash Book is our puppy, Coco.
You can watch the video here, if you like.

I bought the Retro Blue Smashbook, because I love the soft blue color on the spine.

I love to use Smash books because there's no right or wrong way to add things to the book. Also I use my scrap paper and that saves me money and its a great way to use my leftovers.
The first two pages are where I share when Coco was born, June 7, 2013 and she weighed 2 pounds and 4 ounces when we got here, so very tiny!

Even now it's fun to look back at the pictures and the list I put together.

Because we have cats, we have lots of cat toys! With Coco being so tiny, she loves cat toys, most of the dog and puppy toys are too big for her! And how Coco loves the stray kitten that we recently brought into our home - they are buds and are never without each other.

This is a great example of using paper scraps. I have several pages of Heidi Swap Sugar Chic paper  scraps and I used my circle punch and cut out lots of circles for this one. Did you notice the pet tag
on this page? When I got it in the mail, it was cracked and the company sent me another one so I glued this one together and saved it for this book.

When I say that Coco is a smaller dog, she really is small. She's a Shorkie which is
Shitz Ysu and Yorkie and will most likely weigh 5 lbs on a good day.
I ordered some fun toys from a great online store, Baxter Boo but they ended
up being too big. Unfortunately these pictures show on my blog darker than they really are
and it was so funny watching Coco trying to lug them around.

This is my most recent pages in the Smash book. Last Monday, Coco
had her first grooming appointment, she was so shaggy and her hair was getting
so long and scruffy.

When I went to pick her up, I couldn't believe this was our same puppy!
So cute and now we can she her face and her body! And I thought
the orange bow was so cute. I made sure to tell my hubby not to
throw her bow out when it fell out, he already knew not to throw it
out.

Next page in the Smash book - Halloween.
Yes, Coco does have an outfit!

In the meantime, I rearranged and reorganized my craft room and began working on some goodie bags made out of envelopes.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Wishing you all a wonderful week!

Day 10 Planner Addicts Challenge - Lists

I'm a little behind in sharing my photos each day for the challenge sponsored by Toni from ABFOL.
Today it's time to show Day 10 - Lists.

In my pocket Filofax I have a section that I'll be moving over to my pocket Filofax this weekend.
Does anyone keep lists? I find that lists are a great way to keep track of what you have and also what you need or want, or projects to do. I also keep lists for other items, such as a grocery list, which I'm not going to share today.

For this page, you're probably wondering what this means, it's a list of the copic marker colors that I'd like to get and when I'm out shopping, I can quickly look to make sure I don't buy a duplicate one. These markers cost $4 - $6 each depending where I'm shopping and can be a costly mistake.

This is my list of favorite songs this summer. The plan is to make a Smash page of this very soon.
No reason why I used different colors other than I thought it was fun!

I also put together a list of Smash ideas that I thought would be fun.
It's been a few weeks since I worked on my Smash books,
would you believe I now have 3 of them now?
One is about our puppy, Coco, one is about me and the other one is a surprise!

Anyway, I got off topic.
Thanks for stopping by!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Mother/Daughter Project - Baby Smash!

For my daughters birthday, last November, I bought her the Baby Smash book.
She was gracious but I knew it wasn't exactly the gift she was expecting and that's because
she doesn't do crafts. Crystal lives 1 1/2 hours away and I thought we could work on it when I stay at
her house. A Smash book is a great way for a non-crafty person to document special times or mementos with minimal effect.

Each time that I've visited, it seemed like there wasn't time to work on the Smash book.
Two weeks ago we were able to get a good start on it.
Let me show you a few of the pages we put together.

I made a pocket for the first page so that Crystal could store
all of ultrasound pictures that they had acquired. And then we added cute baby
embellishments.

Crystal took a monthly picture showing the size of the baby by comparing with a fruit/vegetable.
This is a cute idea for a new mom to be, so fun to look back at.

And then it's time to start documenting the birth. It's the beginning of lots of pictures
of very important day!

Now that Macie is 15 months old, its hard to believe she was ever this small.
Don't they grow up too fast?

We added the little hat that Macie wore at the hospital, it sure is tiny!
Crystal saved lots of great things to add to the book, the cute flower picks from the flowers they received at the hospital and the hospital tag with measurements.

It was a nice afternoon putting these pages together and remembering
and feeling so lucky to have this little girl in our lives!

Macie spent a couple of days with me last week as her Mommy had to travel out of town.
She loved playing with my old Netbook that no longer works. And she had her glittery Toms and toy cell phone handy. She's going to be a girly girl for sure!

It's fun to see Macie grow up and learn, she's just starting to love her babies.
Nothing is cuter than a little girl loving her babies!

Crystal needs to find more baby things to add to the Smash book
and I want to look through my stash and see what we can use for my next visit.
This has been a great mother/daughter project.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

SMASH - What the BLEEP was I Thinking?

Yes, I'm alive - I just took some time off from blogging and got several projects done around here.

I'm back and today and would like to share a few pages from my SMASH book.

SMASHING is a great project for anyone, especially people who don't scrapbook yet have
mementos that they want to keep to remember.
SMASH book costs $15 and many times you can use a coupon
and get it 40-50% off at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Joanns.
Target carries them but they don't offer any coupons, that I'm aware of.

I'm one of those people who get all excited about something and spend lots of time
at the beginning really loving it but this SMASH thing is so much fun.
I haven't decorated the outside of it like many people do, maybe later.
These two pages were inspired by a You Tube challenge from
One Happy Crafty Chick.
The challenge was to have at least two pictures of yourself with unflattering hair, clothes, makeup,
something that made you think - 'What the BLEEP was I thinking?'

When I started looking through pictures, first of all there aren't a lot of pictures of me.
I am usually the person taking the pictures but the ones I did find had a common
denominator - I had perms and they were really curly!
The next two pages, were not part of a challenge but rather pictures I pulled out of photo albums.
I LOVE these pictures of my hubby. He's the most gorgeous man and I love him dearly.
I love this picture, my youngest was baking away with her Easy Bake Oven
and Steve was watching her and also ready for any samples as they were available.
I've taken so many pictures of Macie and many of them have been used for layout pages but there are still so many that I hadn't used.

I know some people SMASH magazine clippings but I want to
keep my more of a scrapbook SMASH book with pictures
that we'll enjoy looking at years from now.

For these two pages, I filled one page with strips of washi tape that I have
You know, years from now, washi tape just might be a thing of the past.
Thanks for stopping by today!

I'm thinking about doing a monthly SMASH challenge, let me know if you'd be interested.

Have a wonderul day!

SMASH - My Pet

Time to show off my second page in my SMASH book that is part of the challenge by 2tinytreasures.
The challenge was to devote a page to your pets. Even though we have cats, Storm was my favorite pet and I miss him everyday.  And so I used several of the funny pictures we have of him.

Storm was very photogenic, which makes for great pictures
but usually has the same big smile.

On the second page, I included the adoption paper from the Humane Society.
As I looked at the information sheet, they didn't believe he was house trained.
We slowly brought him into the house and who knew, he was house trained
and never chewed on anything other than his dog toys.

And most surprisely, he didn't jump on people or bark.
As much as I tried to get him to bark, he wouldn't!

Challenge Three - Where You Work.
I start my new job on Nov 5th, so I'll have to wait to do this page later on.

Challenge Four - Where You Live.
I'll need to do some research on this one!

Challenge Five - Favorite Animated Character
I'm going to have to think on this one, who's your favorite character?

Challenge Six - Favorite Drinks
I know what I'll do for this one!

Challenge Seven - Movie Stubs
How ironic - we're going to the movies tomorrow!!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Beginning to SMASH

It's been awhile since I shared how much I love to watch YouTube vidoes.

One of my favorite YouTubers is 2tinytreasure and she has a
Smash book challenge going on now.
I had bought a Smash book for my youngest daughter
to save her memories while living in S Korea but never had one for me.
So Saturday I went shopping and got lots of Smash items!

The pink Smash book that I picked out is pretty style and the pages are more of a shabby chic look.
While researching which book I wanted, I noticed there are so many other styles -
green/eco, blue/retro, red/doodle, yellow/international, lt green/baby, tan/wedding.
Who knew?

And if you're going to make a Smash book, how about some washi tape?

I also picked up these little word pads which help to prompt you with items to add.
I think I paid $3 for each pad and there are 3 copies of each page.

And my last item was to add a few envelopes to the pages that also have a calendar, love these paper clips and some cute little sticky notes.
I got my items at Michaels but I know that Target also carries a great selection of Smash items!

The first challenge was to do a page about yourself and this was the beginning of something that I found to be so fun. Not only did I use some of the Smash items but I pulled things out of my stash that I probably would never use. (I am a hoarder.)

I pulled out some of my glittering thickers and added a picture and then filled in the blank space.
Part of the fun in making a Smash book is that you fill in as much or as little as you want.

If you noticed on the left side, there is a date stamp. This is a Smash stamper that I bought
quite awhile ago but never used it. How fun this will be to go back in a year and see
if my favorites listed, are still my favorites.

I think it took me longer to come up with my favorites than it did to put the pages together.

I'll share my page 2 challenge next Wednesday - "My Pets"

How about you get a Smash book and become a part of this challenge?
I've also got a Smash Book pinterest board too!

Thanks for stopping by today!
