My Latest Smash Book - Subject - Our Puppy, Coco

Back in August, I shared my latest Smash book that I'm working on.
The title/subject for this Smash Book is our puppy, Coco.
You can watch the video here, if you like.

I bought the Retro Blue Smashbook, because I love the soft blue color on the spine.

I love to use Smash books because there's no right or wrong way to add things to the book. Also I use my scrap paper and that saves me money and its a great way to use my leftovers.
The first two pages are where I share when Coco was born, June 7, 2013 and she weighed 2 pounds and 4 ounces when we got here, so very tiny!

Even now it's fun to look back at the pictures and the list I put together.

Because we have cats, we have lots of cat toys! With Coco being so tiny, she loves cat toys, most of the dog and puppy toys are too big for her! And how Coco loves the stray kitten that we recently brought into our home - they are buds and are never without each other.

This is a great example of using paper scraps. I have several pages of Heidi Swap Sugar Chic paper  scraps and I used my circle punch and cut out lots of circles for this one. Did you notice the pet tag
on this page? When I got it in the mail, it was cracked and the company sent me another one so I glued this one together and saved it for this book.

When I say that Coco is a smaller dog, she really is small. She's a Shorkie which is
Shitz Ysu and Yorkie and will most likely weigh 5 lbs on a good day.
I ordered some fun toys from a great online store, Baxter Boo but they ended
up being too big. Unfortunately these pictures show on my blog darker than they really are
and it was so funny watching Coco trying to lug them around.

This is my most recent pages in the Smash book. Last Monday, Coco
had her first grooming appointment, she was so shaggy and her hair was getting
so long and scruffy.

When I went to pick her up, I couldn't believe this was our same puppy!
So cute and now we can she her face and her body! And I thought
the orange bow was so cute. I made sure to tell my hubby not to
throw her bow out when it fell out, he already knew not to throw it
out.

Next page in the Smash book - Halloween.
Yes, Coco does have an outfit!

In the meantime, I rearranged and reorganized my craft room and began working on some goodie bags made out of envelopes.

Thanks for stopping by today!
Wishing you all a wonderful week!

It's been awhile since I've used the Kiwi Lane Design templates.

Let me show what I put together in no time!

The two page layout called for four pictures and even those my son is now 27, it seems like
his first hair cut was just a few months ago.

Altered Easter Egg Carton Swap

This cold weather sure doesn't make it seem possible that spring begins tomorrow, does it?
I have a feeling that Easter is going to be chilly! I don't know anyone who isn't ready for
spring and warmer weather.

Now that Easter is closing in on us, I wanted to share a swap that I recently participated in.
I like to wait to show what I made until it's been received by the recipent so it doesn't ruin the surprise, and she received it yesterday.

Gift Set Swap - Scrapdaworld!

I've been spending too much time on YouTube, and that means I'm in inspiration
overload.  I want to create everything. I'm new to the swaps that go on there,
there's so many to pick from.

Tmika from Scrapdaworld had a fantastic swap - to make a gift set for swapping.
We were put in groups of four and the requirements:
 make a handmade flower
two stickpins that needed to have two pearls and a spacer cap
standard tag - stamped or distressed
three different trims, at least 18" each)
make the package pretty and everything should coordinate.
It sounded like a lot, but it ended up being such an easy and fun project.
Let me show you what I made.

We could make all three sets the same, but I decided to make the same flower but use different colors for the lace trims.

Lucky Brown Bag and B.L.T.

Recently I took part in a swap from a Facebook Group, Close Friends.
Each participant was alter a paper lunch bag and fill it up
with goodies - Bling, Lace and Trims, treats, goodies and include something for LUCK.

Did you happen to get one of the 6X6 paper pads at Michaels Craft Store for one penny?
I was able to snatch up four pads and used Teresa Collins Breeze paper collection for
this project. Beautiful papers, soft yellow, gray and white designs.

I dug through my huge stash to make this. The metal 'friends' and yellow flower are from Michaels
and the other items are from various Etsy stores.

In the left corner of the bag, I attempted to make a double bow and added another metal embellishment and a clear flower. Isn't this paper just gorgeous?

For the LUCK item I made a tag and added lots of green embellishments.

Here's the back of the tag, the reason I wanted to share this - did you
catch that I put 2012?  It might take me a couple more months
before I remember we are in 2013. Does that happen to you?

I made another tag, something more spring like
but the back of the tag is my favorite part.

I came across this poem and I thought this could
be another item for LUCK.

Now let me show you what I received.

Love all the colors, the feather, bling, yellow flowers.
But what caught my eye was what she sent me for LUCK.

Joanne shared that she took a class on altering paperdolls
and made this for me. I'm hoping she'll share some
tips and tricks so I can learn how to do this.

So that's my latest swap share.
Would you believe I am working on 5 swaps right now?
I'll be sharing those later on, once completed
and mailed out.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Selling Magazines On Facebook?

Awhile ago I joined a Facebook group named The Scrap Yard.
It's a wonderful group of papercrafters that buy, sell or trade unwanted stamping, crafting or scrapbooking supplies.

I have bought many things from this group and decided to try to sell some of my things on this page.

In my attempt to reorganize my craft space, I had a LOT of scrapbook magazines
that I never looked at but couldn't throw in the trash. I decided to see
if anyone on The Scrap Yard FB page would be interested in buying them.
The response was an overwhelming YES!

This is maybe half of the scrapbooking magazines that I put up for sale.

Many of the magazines were bought off ebay several years ago.

And then there's the magazines that I had subscribed too.

And more magazines..

I counted how many I had put up for sale.
106 magazines!
I sold 103 of them!
Wow, I was suprised that I had that many magazines,
and really happy because I made a little over $200!
Crazy huh?

This was a huge project, listing, taking pictures, mailing out the magazines,
but so worth it!

So if you're hoarding magazines like me,
think about selling them,
you'd be surprised how freeing it is!

Valentine Paper Bag Cards

It's been ages since I've made Valentine cards for kids.
Don't you remember taking a shoe box and covering it with white tissue paper and doily hearts? So much fun!

My oldest daughter asked me if I would be interested in making Valentine cards for Macie
to take to her daycare. Let me show you how they turned out and then I'll show you how
easy they were to make!

Nothing says Valentines Day like hearts, pink, red and a little lace.
I had everything on hand so this ended up being a no cost project, perfect - right?

The felt hearts are from Dollar Tree and it's suppose to be a garland but I cut them apart and
hot glued one on the back of each bag along with another Valentine cutout.

I got the Valentine kit at Michaels a few years ago on clearance and it has so many pieces
that it will take me a long time to use it all up - so this was the perfect project.

My how times have changed, a conversation heart that says, 'email me'?

Let me show you how I made these cards.

I used brown lunch bags but you could use any size paper lunch bags you have on hand.

Next step is to fold down the flap on the end.

Take a scissors or paper trimmer and cut that piece off.
You should end up with bottom ends being open.

Flip the bag over and fold the bag up 3/4 of the way.
Again, no need to measure, unless you want every bag to
be exactly the same but really it isn't necessary.

Taking Valentine scrapbook paper, glue on paper
for the top part of the bag. No need to cover the
entire area sinc it won't be seen once the bag
is folded. Once you're done with that, cover the flap and
I also did the backside of the bag.

Once you have that part done, this is when it begins
to get fun. Pull out your Valentine cards, doilies,
anything and everything you have that can
be glued on the bag.

In no time you have a one of a kind Valentine paper bag card.
Be sure to tuck the card in the lower flap and then
in the opening at the top, there's plenty of room
to stick a sucker, conversation hearts or for toddler
you might want to stick in a small bag of Goldfish crackers
and for an adult - don't forget to add some chocolate!

Here's a glimpe of the back of the card.
This bag turned out cute and I can't imagine any kid not loving receiving this.

This was the very first bag that I made, I got a little carried away and started adding pearls and
it seemed too fussy for a little child.

I love the back of the bag more so than the front. No to mention,
I got a little crooked with my lace and pearls.

As for me, I'm off to see my daughter and Macie and finish up the rest of
these bags. Plus I love to organize pantries, I'll be revamping their
pantry and I'l share pictures very soon as well as what my pantry looks like now.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Don't forget about my giveaway too!

Valentine Balsam Containers Goodness

If you've been to Michael's Craft Store, every so often they have these balsam containers
for sale. Let me show you how I altered all three of them.

I removed each knob and elastic band and added a flower and used velcro for the closure.
I got the metal sentiments at Michaels, the pack was $2.
The cute buttons are from Target.

I picked out three different Valentine papers and then painted each one
a color to coordinate. I did paint the entire box but after I was finished,
I realized that I only needed to paint the edges, sides and inside.

The cabochons are from The Cottage Market and are so pretty, aren't they?
Each one is different from the other and full of Valentine goodness.
I can't imagine anyone not loving to receive one of these, can you?

Thanks for stopping by today.
Linking to these parties

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
