My Lollipop Flower Gone Shabby Chic!

Have you been seeing all the cute flowers out there? I've been stalking You Tube and watching how to make different types of flowers.

Let me show you my version of the "lollipop" flower but with a shabby chic twist.

And made this flower for my picture display for work..It's so easy to make that I just have to share it with you.

I took some white tissue paper and cut three different size circles...each flower has three of each size - so there's a total of 9 circles per flower. You can have as many or as little as you like.

And then in the morning, I took a cereal bowl and poured some coffee into it, wait for it to cool.
And I dunked each circle in the coffee and then set it on some plastic wrap to dry.
Be sure to do each one at a time..the first time I did it - I put all of the circles in together and they stuck together..so it's one by one... Don't have them touch and it looks great if they aren't laying flat...

Then I stacked 3 large, 3 medium and 3 small circles and put a hole in the middle and added a brad.

And then I crumpled each one up...be careful as the tissue is very fragile...

and then I smoothed most of it out...

And cut off some of the edge that looked out of place...

The pictures look like the flowers are yellow but they really are a soft ivory color...

I've got myself some super cute flowers, just waiting for my scrapbook pages..

These look great. I save my used coffee filters (all nicely rinsed of course) and have made some flowers with those. They have the wonderful aged color I love and I feel like I'm being a little green too :)
I like you idea of using a brad to hold the flower together. There are some really pretty brads at the scrapbook store.
Have a great day.
