A couple of months ago, I found this breadbox at Goodwill and I think I paid $3 for it. I'm sure the people at Goodwill wondered why I would want this dated looking breadbox. And I'm pretty sure some of the customers also lquestioned my purchase & wondered what my house must look like if I was this happy buying this ugly breadbox. (My kids were definitely questioning my sanity, and probably DH was too.)
It's pretty nice huh? Well I wanted to spray paint it but that big ugly wood knot stood out even more with spray paint. I needed to rethink my plan and so the breadbox sat in the garage a little longer. I'm sure DH questioned why I bought it when it was just sitting there.
One day, I happened to be reading A Soft Place to Land and she redid a dresser with Caromal Colors and it looked like something I could handle. So I ordered the kit, it arrived and the breadbox still sat in the garage.
I've come to realize that I am a terrible procrastinator. This was a revelation as I always thought I was a "get er done" kind of person. But I embrace that I need to wait for the right time and not be rushed.
And here's what it looks like now...
I just love how it turned out!
We even have bread to put in it!
I put my basket of gingerbread babies on top,
Hope your having a nice weekend, be sure to stop over to Funky Junk Interiors for more inspiration and projects.

Love it! I clicked on your link from Funky Junk Donna's specifically because I want to find an old bread box to make into a junk collector in the corner of my kitchen...(papers, pencils all kinds of stuff that corner always seems to collect) I love what you did with it. Will be on the lookout for one too!
Happy Holidays,
Lisa
You did a great job on it. I have looked at them before, but managed to walk away, as I don't have room for one on my counter.
Drop by - I am having a give away.
Great Breadbox find. Never see them around any more.
It turned out much lovelier than I anticipated. This would be pretty on a desk for stashing papers. I love your ginger babies, too!
Great find and a wonderful makeover! You did a fabulous job on it!
Cheers!

Ohhh I have been curious about those paints since Kimba showed us all about them! The result you've achieved is outstanding!!
Your cat Charlie looks freakishly like my now deceased cat Buddy. Caught my breath for a moment! Is Charlie a fighter by any chance? I can see Bud's declawed soft pad swatting at my head just looking at your cat. LOL
Waaay off topic. Oops!
Thanks for linking up!

You did a fabulous Frenchy Re-Vamp on that bread box of yours!! Did you find your crystal knob anywhere special? I'm curious because I'd like to use that style for a project but haven't found any that are in the price range I like as much as I like the knobs. lol
