St Patrick's Day Decor

The day after Valentine's Day, I started planning for St. Patricks Day and
to use my latest find from Goodwill.

I recently got this picture frame for $2 at my Goodwill. I  promptly came home and spray
painted it a cream color.

And used a couple of Dollar Tree picture frames and added scrapbook paper and a cute picture of a girl with her dog..

Another frame that I got at Goodwill awhile ago that I spray painted green and added some scrapbook paper and a great subway art(sorry I can't remember who made this).

Most of my Cherished Treasures came from Goodwill. One day I happened to hit the jackpot and got a bunch of them for $5 each!

These glittery flowers came from Dollar Tree..

I stuck them into this planter (also from Goodwill). I have the best Goodwill but have to stay away because it's always full of great things and my house overflows as it is!

The picture frame is also from my Goodwill and the subway art comes from Eighteen25,
they have the cutest subway art around!

This cute little shamrock hanging came from Hobby Lobby.

This shamrock was suppose to be a pick but when I unpacked it from the box, the stick got broken off.
Did you say throw it away? Hush, it's still good!

And here's my St. Patrick's Day wall...
Can you believe that it's almost March?

I'm also celebrating having 400 followers with a giveaway. I hope you'll check it out!

Vintage Cards Found @ Goodwill & My Altered Storage Binder

On one of our excursions to Goodwill, DH happened to find this scrapbook for sale and he knew I would want it!

The album is in excellant condition....

and packed with vintage cards...and how do I know these are vintage?

Here's the birth announcement...
and inside it states that the baby boy was born May 15, 1952!

Let me show you a few of the many, many cards inside...

What a wonderful Easter card...

and the birthday cards are still like new and the colors are so bright and cheery!

Isn't this roller skating birthday card so cute? Do kids even go roller skating anymore?
My parents owned a roller skating rink, I roller skated every Sunday.

It seems that birds never go out of style, this one is very sweet looking.

Check out all of these Valentine cards!

My plan was to remove the cards and store them for various craft projects...
and this brings me to my storage project...

I took this binder that I had bought at Wal-Mart a few years ago.
The color was not working with what I have going on in my scrapbook/office...
So I went through my scrapbook paper and this is how it looks now...

I used some ribbon and my lacy flower that I made...

Added some chipboard sentiments along with more flowers and lace...

Added some tabs inside for easy access for each holiday...

Still removing the cards so the tabs are temporary until all completed...

And here is the binder completed!
It turned out so fun and bright....

I'm linking to these parties...

And before I forget, I really appreciate all the nice comments and all the followers...
I'll be having a giveaway starting on Friday.

Thanks so much!

        Embellished Lacy Scrappy Flowers

It seems that winter just isn't going to go away for awhile. Yesterday, it rained, then turned to freezing rain and then snow. Today it was more snow and doesn't appear it's going to melt anytime soon.

But I'm lucky because I can sit tight at home and create in my scrapbook room and forget all about what's going on outside. I'm working on making some things for St Patricks Day... but for today I want to show how I made these flowers...

To start, I cut out a circle 2 inches in diameter, and also 4 - 2" of lace..
Hot glue it around the edge of the circle...

I took a piece of ribbon and basted on the edge...

Pulled it tight and sewed it in the middle to keep it together...

And then hot glued it to the main part of the flower..

Added some flowers that I made..
        Directions are here...

For this flower, I added ribbon and a rolled flower...

This flower was also made with some fabric cut into different size circles with a button on top..

        All very easy to make!

        Scrapbook Room Bulletin Board

It's been awhile since I've shown off my bulletin board in my office/scrapbook room.

Each month I love to decorate my bulletin board with free seasonal printables. There are so many computer savvy people with amazing free printables that I save and print out.

But let's start from the beginning with what my bulletin board looked liked before I redid it..

I got this picture at a yard sale, the intention that I would hang it up in our family room.
DH was not a fan of the picture and I took it down and put it away.

So I spray painted it black and hung it up in my crafting area.
And I even added "CREATE" to my board....
but "CREATE" was misspelled and hot glued on  and quickly fell apart when I removed the letters.
The background was burlap and that stuff is so dang messy...

So when I moved my crafting area upstairs, I spray painted the frame white and added some fun fabric...

Here's what it looks like today...

I took this flower and hot glued a thumb tack on the back...super cute and so fun!

I got this cat picture off eBay several years ago...right now we have 4 cats!

The love birds was something I got last year on clearance for a dollar...I keep this up all year round..

A baby picture of me and my twin sister, Tracy....one of my favorite pictures.

I made this Hello Kitty card, which I don't make cards so this was a real stretch for me...

Another flower I made and glued a thumb tack on the back.....

The mirror came from Goodwill and I spray painted it a bright fushica color...

We're expecting some bad weather starting tonight,,, freezing rain and anywhere from 3 to 12 inches of snow. The Dept of Public Safety & Transportation is advising no unneccessary travel this weekend.

We'll be staying put and continuing our nightly marathon of "24"!
