I've spent too much time trying to figure it out and no closer to getting it fixed than when I started.
And I would sure love to figure out how to make the blog button...
How did everyone learn how to make their blogs so nice?

I am still working on getting mine straightened out also. I will tell you my experience & maybe it will help you. My header picture would center until I switched templates to "Minima Stretch" - then the photo would hug to the left like yours. I uploaded the one I wanted to use to photobucket at 800 X 600 - then rt. clicked & click "save picture as". It would save to my pictures in "Windows Photo Gallery" at the new size.
Then use that picture.
Your blog layout looks great - you have done a lot more to yours than I have mine. Like your designs on the sides. I am computer challenged and terms like "html" scare me. I need to take the time and learn more, but I usually hit the keyboard runnng. Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch does a great job of giving tutorials and suggestions. If you have any questions - I will be glad to tell you what little I know. :-)

Sharon @ A New England Lifestyle is also a great help. I am sure there is an easier way, I just don't know it yet. I will check back to see other's answers to your questions - I need to learn more.

I am sure picture size has something to do with it. But I am not sure how to do it. Sorry I am not much help. I like what you have so far.
I'm pretty much completely illiterate in this area. I either pay someone to do it for me, or wait till I win a blog makeover. I know...that is pretty pathetic.
