Today's Thrifty Treasures & Metamporphis Monday

It's time once again for Today's Thrifty Treasures sover at Southern Hospitality and Metamporphis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch. Make sure to check out the other blogs and what they've done and found!

Here's some of my thrifty treasures from Goodwill..

Even though 4th of July is a memory, I still had to have this picture..

Look at this cute wicker hamper, perfect for my updated laundry room(Metamorphis Monday below).

This book is from 1939, it looked interesting.

A book for my daughter, who never reads fiction..

A couple more books, I can't imagine ever paying full price for a book.

A cute baby cross (hint hint to C & S)

This adorable Precious Moments, I got it for $2.

Now it's time to show my laundry room redo (I'm the master mind and Steve's the master muscle man!)

Here's the laundry room that I've been using for 10+ years. While I love my washer and dryer, the room is depressing. See how the plastic is faling down in the left corner? I've read the blogs showing the different uses for burlap and decided to cover up my laundry room walls with it.

It really did change the feel of the room without spending a lot of money.

DH and I went shopping for organizer as well as a shelf to put above the W & D to showcase some of my thrifty finds.

Here's DH busy at work...

Here's what it looks like now, I even color coded the hangers.

I found both of these jars at Goodwill, the one jar is holding different spools of thread-most of them are wooden. And then the other jar is holding plastic clothes pins - not sure how old they are but I've never seen these before..

I found this jar at a yard sale and stuck my clothes pins in it.

You would never know that the fuse box is hidden behind the burlap. It's easily accessible if someone needs to get to it to.

Here's my new organizer to hang up clothes. (Hobby Lobby dress is so cute!)

Here's a full shot of the organizer, the jar holds the fabric softner sheets.

Now we need to complete this corner that no one ever sees since the door is usually open.

I love that flag picture, and your laundry room is so cute! I wish mine was! It's in the basement, with the cement walls, and all the pipes exposed...it's beyond help!

The Goldberg book is REALLY good. I love his writing. Try her on Mark Steyn too...my oldest daughter is 18 and likes him a lot.

And I remember those clothespins...70s?

Great thrift finds! Excellent ... and I envy anyone who has such a lovely laundry room. My washer and dryer are in our old stone basement -- it's like being in a dungeon!

And -- I don't know if it's my computer or monitor, but I had trouble reading the left side of your blog because the words go over the "wallpaper" and are obscured. Great wallpaper, though!

The burlap is a great way to hide the mess in the walls. Looks great the way you did it. Definitely helps to make doing laundry more enjoyable. Although I don't think I will enjoy doing laundry. LOL!
Making the room more enjoyable to be in will help I'm sure.
