Let me introduce you to my bathroom. And also introduce you to Groucho, who loves to run ahead of me and jump on the counter and watch me get ready for work in the morning.
We've got the generic builder grade mirror. (oops, don't pay any attention to the towel hanging up - I forgot to pull it down.) I've seen the blogs where people trim out the mirror, but it seemed to be sort of expensive and definitely too much time not to mention, lack of skill.
At work, we have a public email folder that people can post things for sale. I've sold plenty in my time and found lots of bargains. A gal was selling this mirror, and even though it was really nice the way it was, a little spray paint would be a big change!
Look at the detail, very pretty and very HEAVY!
One can of cream spray paint and up it went! The bathroom is so bright now! We also put up a new light fixture and the room takes on a completely different feel.
I found this plaque at Goodwill awhile back. And I've got big plans for it this weekend and another spray paint project!

Hi Terry,
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your suggestion.
Love your blog - going back to see older posts now,
Sylvia
The mirror is gorgeous! I've been wanting to pull down my mirror for awhile now. Was it difficult? Did it break as you pulled it down?? I LOVE the new look & spray painting it was a good choice!
LOVE the white detailed frame, and i also love that groucho hopped up there - what a cutie! my cats do the same. i really should just rename my blog "where are the cats" because they somehow appear in almost every photo i post, even if it's just the tip of their tail, or their ears peering up from behind a piece of furniture :)
What a beautiful frame! You took it from tired and ugly to chic and fabulous! Love it!
Cheers!
Tina
I L-O-V-E I-T! It looks breathtaking! And how cute your kitty is!
