Sunday Song - American Bandstand

This past week we learned that Dick Clark passed away from a heart attack...
I watched American Bandstand faithfully every Saturday for one hour...

what was not to love about the show...
the dancing, the clothes...and most of all the music...

This week I have three videos that best depict what made American Bandstand so special...
which maybe brings back memories or gives you a glimpse of why I loved American Bandstand...

This next two videos are a great representation of disco music but also what the show was about..

I might be one of the few that loved disco music...

Sunday Song - CMA - New Artist of the Year

Typically on Sunday I pick a song that I've recently heard that I really like...

but this week, since the CMA awards are on tonight..I thought I'd share who the

nominees are for 'New Artist of the Year.'

I think usually there are 5 nominees but this year, there's only 3.
And so I'd like to share a song from each of them...

One of my new favorite shows this year is Smash...

starring Katharine McPhee who was on American Idol a few seasons ago...

If you haven't seen this show and love Glee - you'll love this show...

it's a more grown up version with spectular singing...

Katharine McPhee is not only so beautiful and thin

but her voice is amazing...

My daughter recently told me about this artist and thought I would like her music...

and well....I LOVE her voice as well as her uplifting message.

While the month of February was mixed with happiness and love,

we also experienced immense grief when we

needed to put our dog and very faithful companion, Storm down.

There have also been other bloggingfriends that

have experienced loss or received bad news this month..

I dedicate this song to those

of you who need a lift...

and know that we are all blessed...
