Memorial weekend is coming to an end and we got our bedroom all done!
We'll be in bed early tonight...tomorrow we're going to work to rest!

Here's our dresser and nightstand, cluttered and a overflowing hamper.
(This is considered a typical look for our room.)
And the dresser that basically holds the big TV that we might watch 10 minutes each night.
After we moved everything into the garage, it was time to wash everything with Simple Greem diluted with water.
And then instead of spending hours sanding, we used Deglosser. And our latex gloves didn't make it through this process and we have very chapped hands.
The next step was to two coats of Primer, we used ML Campbell pigmented laquer. And we forgot to take our paint sample at the paint store, we don't know the name of the color. This brand of laquer is what cabinet businesses use and is very durable.
I got these shutter at Goodwill last weekend, $1 each for a total of $4 and we painted them to match the rest of the furniture.
Everything received two coats of the laquer and also some sanding.
Next came the glaze and then finished up with two coats of clear laquer to protect the finish.
Besides moving the furniture out of the house, the second worst thing to do is taping. Thankfully this was the only real thing that took time to get it done right.
Once we got the unpleastantries out of the way, it was time to get things moving.
The 20 drawers were lined up and Steve got busy spraying on the product.
We really liked how the furniture looked before we did the glazing but this really did bring it to the next level.
And here's our bedroom now..so bright and clean and feels like a new set!
Once it was time to put the drawer pulls back on, we noticed that the hardwars was partially wood. We decided to paint them black for a little contrast.
Our tall chest, we decided no more TV in the bedroom, I dreamt last night of how I could decorate this new found area. My Goodwill shutters were hung up first..
The shutter headboard is what started this all...I found these on Craigslist and painted them in December.
We can't get over how much cleaner and new everything looks..
Bear with me as I show some more pictures...
On top of the shutters, I put some birds that I got last year on clearance at Kohl's.
The orchid was a Mother's Day present from Crystal and Stuart.
We'll be in bed early tonight...tomorrow we're going to work to rest!
Oh and we can't forget our Storm...he helped us too...
it's a tough job, napping in the garage when he's use to sleeping on our bed...
