This is where I work on scrapbooking in our lower level family room...Tomorrow I'll be working on moving this upstairs into my office.

I bought a few of these components from Michael's this weekend...

the desk and hutch are from Target and the chair is from Ikea...

I spend too much time in here reading blogs and watching You Tube.

After this week, I'll be able to scrabook in here too...

Can you believe it's almost September? The days are starting cooler and then the temps are climbing into the high 80's and then get cooler in the evening. Loving it just not liking how the days are getting shorter...

Erin shows how she decorated this tall room to make it warm and cozy.

One of my all time favorite bookstores, Barnes and Noble is on Facebook and this week they hosted a live chat with Debbie Macomber (my favorite author)!

And there were lots of women asking questions being asked. I couldn't believe that she answered a couple of my questions!

Now That I'm Fifty...

For women, once we turn 40, it's time for mammograms but once you turn 50, it's time for a colonscopy! 

And I've been having some issues that my doctor said it was time to have a colonoscopy.

If you've never had a colonoscopy - it's a piece of cake and nothing to be worried about. 

That is except for prepping for the procedure.  They tell you to stay home and be near the bathroom - they really need to say - plan on living in your bathroom for at least 4 hours and bring something to read!

After some research on the internet - the plain and simple truth is - I'm overweight! 

For the past three weeks, DH and I have been reducing our food intake and making healthier choices.

But can you believe that when I did the cleansing  - I gained 4 pounds!

Was this TMI (too much information?)

Banana Bread in Your Bread Machine?

This summer it seems like the bananas we've been buying seem to rippen before we can eat them. And when it's hot outside, I'm not all that interested in making some banana bread and heating up the kitchen.

The nights sure are cooling down around here and summer is fading away fast.

I've been busy with Ashley being home and scrapbooking.

The days turned dark much quicker lately too.

Almost Didn't Find Anything!

Yesterday I was out and about with my daughters and we made a pit stop at Goodwill.

It was one of those stops where, you look but don't real see anything that needs to go home with you.

Until I saw .....

A pewter mirror and brush set...it was pretty dirty..

but with a little cleaning it's all shiny now and will be going into the bathroom.

Have You Rated Your Space?

Last month, I posted three rooms in my house on Rate My Space.

Have you ever done that?

I put pictures of our covered deck.

And sounds like it might be cluttered, but I love to be surrounded by my things...

I did rearrange the space and got rid of a few things.

Special Moments of Your Life Blurry?

Last night as Ashley and Jordan were arriving in the airport, after being gone for five months - I wanted to make sure to take a picture of them when they saw us..and this is what I ended up with..

one nice blurry picture...and I have no idea who the guy is...

Today Ashley got a haircut and tomorrow it's pedicures for us.

I'm so glad to have her back and she's working on readjusting to the 14 hour time change and laundry!

My Foot Stool

Last weekend I went to a tag sale and bought this foot stool, or I thought it was a foot stool.

Turns out it's a bench instead, but we're going to use it as a foot stool.

The material was pretty disgusting and even had a spider nest underneath.

I was looking for some fabric to recover the stool to match these chairs.

And I found this fabric at Hobby Lobby...

And it looks really nice together.

My plan, if I can't stop being afraid - is to make slipcovers for the chairs...

I think we paid $3 per chair at Goodwill and they really are pretty comfy.

But for now we use them as they are...

As you can see, Charlie is quite comfortable!
