When It's Too Hot To Be Outside and a Giveaway!

It seems that the entire United States has been in a heatwave lately,
which means most of us will stay inside where it's hopefully cooler.
While our home is not large or stately, it's our home and we prefer to stay home
as much as possible..

I've shared our living room with my latest junk find here and

how I decorated our dining room for the summer here

Today I'm taking you on a tour of our kitchen...

Actually Max is here and ready to show you his favorite space...he loves the kitchen
and the possiblity of getting a couple of cat treats from time to time...

I think it's been three years since we painted our kitchen and I love as much today as I did when it as completed!

While we do have a white refrigerator and a black stove, this doesn't bother me...
maybe someday down the road we'll get matching appliances but this works for us....
See the towel on the oven door...click here for a tutorial...

Everything about the cabinets is from rummages or Goodwill, the only think I bought was the fork and spoon from Hobby Lobby and the wall decal...

Would you believe I got every single rolling pin and the beater from Goodwill?
I think the most I paid was $2 each and put them in a white ceramic popcorn container that I turned around so the writing doesn's show. In the picnic basket is where I store my cookie cutters...
many of them are metal vintage ones...and were found at Goodwill or rummaging...

My breadbox was also a Goodwill find but it didn't look anything like it does now...
click here to see the before...
On top of the breadbox are two of my favorite teapots...also from Goodwill...
while I love white ironstone teapots..this little ladybug teapot is so cute...
In the glass jar I have birthday cake decorations from years past... more pictures of this later this week...

Barbara from Snip It Up makes the cutest things....I love my rag flower potholders...

Barbara was such a sweetheart that she sent me this rag purse that I've been using but
right now I have it to hold those plastic grocery store bags.....and she sent me one of
those cabinet holders....love them Barbara!!

In the corner we keep the Bunn Coffeemaker here and it's flanked by some more
Goodwill finds...the canisters on each side are from Goodwill as well as the picture frame...
I have more canister in the cupboard that hold things we don't use everyday..
.

Sometimes I get tired of saying this is from Goodwill and this is from Goodwill...
but really if we are looking for something, we go to Goodwill first...
and we've been very lucky....
the cute little kokeshi doll was a mothers day present from my daughter, Ashley
who lives in Korea....I'm hoping to get more of these little dolls...so cute!

Okay - this is Max, can we hurry up with the tour and talk about the giveaway...getting tired...

Barbara from Snit It Up is offering one person a set of these cute bluebird potholders...

and an embrodiered cabinet hanger...

Terry I have to say, I LOVE your kitchen.. I have been really wanting to paint our kitchen cabinets white too for a long time and replace the hardware with something retro..How difficult was this for you to do and is it hard to keep clean? Thank you thank you for showing us your kitchen. You've inspired me!
Robyn :)

Your kitchen is lovely! I also have collected a few rolling pins and I love stars. The pot holders and cabinet hanger are adorable, and such pretty fabrics. I'm pinning now and I'm also your newest follower.
