Organizing Message Central - Another Altered Project

I've really become obsessed with altering objects and turning them into something new...

enter the area by our phone!

This is where we take messages but since it's mostly the two of us here, there's definitely too many pens & paper here..

so much stuff that phone cord would get wrapped up in the clutter..

and this cigar box fits the description to help out..
courtesy of Goodwill.

I used Modern Homemaker - October Afternoon scrapbook paper and
added a raggedy flower from my stash..

and here's how it turned out, the paper is super fun and very vintage looking.

Inside I stored a few pens, paper, and other odds and ends..

and now the message central station isn't so cluttered looking.

Message central is looking better these days and always nice to reduce the clutter.
I'm linking to these parties....

That's great! I would like to make a spot like that, with the pockets on the wall, but I just don't know where.

Visiting from Someday Crafts!

Very cute! I tried to alter a cigar box with scrapbook paper recently but it did not work out so well. THe box would not close ... and there were some bubbles.

Your cigar box looks great, good job!

First time at your wonderful blog. Thanks for the how-to on making your punched flowers dimensional - just add water- who knew.
I spent time reviewing many of your posts for inspiration.
Happy Easter

Ahhh I just saw a bunch of these boxes at a garage sale and though, I bet I can make something with them. Then I didn't buy them! This is super adorable! I'd like to invite you to share this at my VIP party this weekend. http://designergarden.blogspot.com/2011/04/vip-party-12.html

I'm with you,
I love getting a little more from something that has outlived it's original use. This is such a great idea, thanks for sharing it!
