Kiwi Lane Design Sketch Challenge

It's been awhile since I've used the Kiwi Lane Design templates.
I happen to come along a post on Facebook that they have weekly challenges using a sketch put together by one of their designers. Theres an opportunity to win free product too!

Let me show what I put together in no time!

The two page layout called for four pictures and even those my son is now 27, it seems like
his first hair cut was just a few months ago.

Altered Easter Egg Carton Swap

This cold weather sure doesn't make it seem possible that spring begins tomorrow, does it?
I have a feeling that Easter is going to be chilly! I don't know anyone who isn't ready for
spring and warmer weather.

Now that Easter is closing in on us, I wanted to share a swap that I recently participated in.
I like to wait to show what I made until it's been received by the recipent so it doesn't ruin the surprise, and she received it yesterday.

I'm on You Tube!

Today, I decided to see if I could tackle figuring out how to add videos on You Tube.
It's been one of my goals for this year so have some of my papercrafting projects
shared on YT and it was so easy!

This is a very short video sharing my purchases(a haul) from Michael's Craft Store. Sorry
if it's a little shaky, my first video! Kind of scary!

Thanks for stopping by!

Menu Plan Monday - March 11th

Another week has come and gone, not sure how I feel about this time change.
Sunday felt like it was over before it started.

This weeks menu is going to be mainly using groceries that we have in the house.

Gift Set Swap - Scrapdaworld!

I've been spending too much time on YouTube, and that means I'm in inspiration
overload.  I want to create everything. I'm new to the swaps that go on there,
there's so many to pick from.

Tmika from Scrapdaworld had a fantastic swap - to make a gift set for swapping.
We were put in groups of four and the requirements:
 make a handmade flower
two stickpins that needed to have two pearls and a spacer cap
standard tag - stamped or distressed
three different trims, at least 18" each)
make the package pretty and everything should coordinate.
It sounded like a lot, but it ended up being such an easy and fun project.
Let me show you what I made.

We could make all three sets the same, but I decided to make the same flower but use different colors for the lace trims.

No Cost Organizing the Kitchen Cupboard

We don't have a lot of cabinets in our kitchen and most of them are overflowing with stuff.
I've been making a conscious effort to streamline what we have. And can I just say, it's hard!
This cabinet was really not being used to its full potential and it wasn't pretty
when the door was opened. (Another one of my things is - I want it to be pretty.)

Let me show you what I started with.

Recently I moved our prescriptions and vitamins to the kitchen.
For a long time I knew they shouldn't be stored in the bathroom, but
that's exactly where they were - for many years!

Mother/Daughter Project - Baby Smash!

For my daughters birthday, last November, I bought her the Baby Smash book.
She was gracious but I knew it wasn't exactly the gift she was expecting and that's because
she doesn't do crafts. Crystal lives 1 1/2 hours away and I thought we could work on it when I stay at
her house. A Smash book is a great way for a non-crafty person to document special times or mementos with minimal effect.

Each time that I've visited, it seemed like there wasn't time to work on the Smash book.
Two weeks ago we were able to get a good start on it.
Let me show you a few of the pages we put together.

I made a pocket for the first page so that Crystal could store
all of ultrasound pictures that they had acquired. And then we added cute baby
embellishments.

Crystal took a monthly picture showing the size of the baby by comparing with a fruit/vegetable.
This is a cute idea for a new mom to be, so fun to look back at.

And then it's time to start documenting the birth. It's the beginning of lots of pictures
of very important day!

Now that Macie is 15 months old, its hard to believe she was ever this small.
Don't they grow up too fast?

We added the little hat that Macie wore at the hospital, it sure is tiny!
Crystal saved lots of great things to add to the book, the cute flower picks from the flowers they received at the hospital and the hospital tag with measurements.

It was a nice afternoon putting these pages together and remembering
and feeling so lucky to have this little girl in our lives!

Macie spent a couple of days with me last week as her Mommy had to travel out of town.
She loved playing with my old Netbook that no longer works. And she had her glittery Toms and toy cell phone handy. She's going to be a girly girl for sure!

It's fun to see Macie grow up and learn, she's just starting to love her babies.
Nothing is cuter than a little girl loving her babies!

Crystal needs to find more baby things to add to the Smash book
and I want to look through my stash and see what we can use for my next visit.
This has been a great mother/daughter project.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
Linking to these parties.

Monday Menu Week March 4th

I've been slack and hadn't put together a weekly menu together for quite some time.
And it ends up being a last minute decision on what to make. Because I need structure,
this wasn't working so well for me so I decided that I had to get back into the habit and
getting this back in place for peace of mind. Plus we save on groceries and then
don't buy more than what we need.

With that said, here's this weeks menu.

Monday -  Chicken Noodle Soup
Tuesday - Breakfast Tator Tot Casserole
Wednesday - Pizza Pot Pie
Thursday - Tilapia
Friday - Crock Pot Lazy Cabbage Rolls
Saturday - Ranchy Crockpot Chicken

The breakfast tator tot casserole was found on Pinterest and has quickly become on of our favorite meals,
it's easy, only need a few ingredients and it's so yummy!
Have you found a favorite recipe on Pinterest?
If so, please share!

Thanks for stopping by today.
Wishing you all a wonderful week.

Lucky Brown Bag and B.L.T.

Recently I took part in a swap from a Facebook Group, Close Friends.
Each participant was alter a paper lunch bag and fill it up
with goodies - Bling, Lace and Trims, treats, goodies and include something for LUCK.

Did you happen to get one of the 6X6 paper pads at Michaels Craft Store for one penny?
I was able to snatch up four pads and used Teresa Collins Breeze paper collection for
this project. Beautiful papers, soft yellow, gray and white designs.

I dug through my huge stash to make this. The metal 'friends' and yellow flower are from Michaels
and the other items are from various Etsy stores.

In the left corner of the bag, I attempted to make a double bow and added another metal embellishment and a clear flower. Isn't this paper just gorgeous?

For the LUCK item I made a tag and added lots of green embellishments.

Here's the back of the tag, the reason I wanted to share this - did you
catch that I put 2012?  It might take me a couple more months
before I remember we are in 2013. Does that happen to you?

I made another tag, something more spring like
but the back of the tag is my favorite part.

I came across this poem and I thought this could
be another item for LUCK.

Now let me show you what I received.

Love all the colors, the feather, bling, yellow flowers.
But what caught my eye was what she sent me for LUCK.

Joanne shared that she took a class on altering paperdolls
and made this for me. I'm hoping she'll share some
tips and tricks so I can learn how to do this.

So that's my latest swap share.
Would you believe I am working on 5 swaps right now?
I'll be sharing those later on, once completed
and mailed out.

Have a wonderful weekend!!
