What's the Name of Your Cafe?

Have you heard of Cafe World? It's a interactive game on Facebook and I've been playing it
almost non-stop!

You're in charge of your very own restaurant. Choose from dozens of dishes to cook, then slice, chop, saute and bake your way to the top of the culinary world!

I want to show you some of the cafe's of my neighbors...each one is very different..

It's up to you to decorate your café any way you want with hundreds of items and styles to choose from.

And if you need a break, you can always visit your friends’ restaurants and try their daily specials.

There's a lot of creative people out there!

One of my high school classmates has a cafe too - I wonder if she knows her stove tops are dirty? hehehehe

And here's my place,  Charlies's Cafe and the furniture never stays in the same place. I'm intrigued by figuring out the perfect set up..

If you haven't heard or tried this game, give it a try and ask me to be your neighbor! The more neighbors you have, the more points you get and the more food choices you have let alone more stoves to cook on...It's crazy fun!

I Did it!

I did it, I made one of those ornament wreaths that have been all over bloggy land! All of the ornaments came from Goodwill too!

And it was so easy, I might have to try this again next year and actually try to color coordinate one!

We're Having a Blizzard!

We've been under a winter advisory since Tuesday and had been waiting for the blizzard to arrive. The kids all made it here safe and sound and we've been enjoying the snow fall and the wind blow. It's always so much better when we don't have to drive anywhere and wait for the snowplows to clear the streets.

Here's what we woke up to on Christmas morning!

And this is our neighbors backyard and the dog kennel...looks like Baxter will be sleeping inside the house until he can get back inside his house!

As of last night, we've received 19.4 inches and expecting another 2 inches.

After clearing out the driveway, the cars were put out in the street. Notice the snow almost up to the mailbox!

Anymore snow and we won't be able to see cars parked in the street!

Helpful Gift-Buying Tipe for Men

Helpful Gift-Buying Tips for Men
  • Never give her anything that you bought in an airport gift shop.
  • If the words "she could really use this," cross your mind while holding a gift, put it down and leave the store.
  • If you have a teenage daughter, beg her to help you pick out something for your wife.
  • A Blu-ray disc player is not a gift to her. That's a gift for you.
  • If you ask your wife/girlfriend what she wants and she replies "nothing," do not believe her.
  • Keep track. A friend once presented his spouse with a pink turtleneck, two Christmases in a row.
  • Never give your mother and your wife the same thing.
  • Anything you bought on Christmas Eve at Walgreens is not something you should tuck under the tree for her.
  • The thought doesn't count. You don't get points for trying hard.
  • A vacuum? Are you insane?

Last, ask a women for help but be prepared to open your wallet wide.
You can never go wrong with cashmere!

Tea Cart Love

Thought I'd share my "great finds" at Goodwill.

This cute black tea cart, I thought it was so cute, I had to have it. The manager said that he knew I'd be taking it home with me when I brought it up to the counter to pay!

And then today, I got this white tea cart! Can't you just picture it full of flowers in the spring & summer?

I really need to focus on Christmas, I still have cookie dough in the refrigerator to make and presents to wrap.

My Gingerbread Tree

Earlier this fall, I started finding lots of gingerbread things at Goodwill and this starting my theme in the kitchen and dining room.

I can't believe how many cute gingerbread things I found...

Most of the ornaments I found at Goodwill!

The Christmas tree ornament is from Avon, many years ago and the initials I got at Kohl's.

I bought this gingerbead house ornament at JC Penney's, they had a beautiful gingerbread house but it was too expensive even at 50% off!

This cute couple came from Goodwill too!

And even these all came from Goodwill!

These came from Hobby Lobby - I love my gingerbread things!

Can't believe it's almost Christmas - I still have lots of things to do, wrapping presents is at the top of my to-do list tomorrow!

Our Shutter Headboard

Too many projects topped off with getting ready for Christmas has made the shutter headboard project a slow one to complete. It changes the whole feel of the room now.

(Picture taken as we were getting ready for bed, Storm was already ready for bed!)

Next up, after Christmas, is to paint our bedroom furniture and accesorize!

Christmas Finds at Goodwill

Just when I think I've found enough Christmas things at Goodwill, I find more wonderful additions for my home.

I just loved this big tub of Christmas ornaments, look at all the different colors and styles. Perhaps a ornament wreath can still happen before Christmas?

And while I was looking through the ornaments, I found this sterling silver ornament that opens up!

And I have no idea what this is inside, kind of interesting.

Then I got three wooden Santas, but for some reason I only have pictures for two of them.

(notice my candy canes that I made this past weekend?)

And of course, while I'm taking pictures - Charlie jumps up and is ready to help if needed.

And yesterday we went to see Ashley in the college Christmas program.

The orchestra that played music from The Nutcracker.

Boy, the weekends sure fly by, don't they?
