Changes to Our Living Room

This summer, one of my(our) bigger projects was to update our living room.

This was our living room and while it really did look nice, the sofa was not all that comfortable..
So I sold it on craigslist this summer..

and bought this leather loveseat and matching oversized chair..
also off Craigslist...

and started playing around with how to arrange the furniture...
The oak table came from Goodwill, I think we paid $8 for it.

And yes, I knew the chairs didn't look good together.
I tried to cover up the chair with a big pillow until I could decide what to do....

I tried a slip cover and it was too big...although Charlie found it comfy for a nap right away!
So back to the store it went...and I went looking for a different chair..

The other part of this project was the wood furniture
The antique dresser came from a junk sale last December
and I knew right away that this would be painted..as well as
the coffee table and end tables..

A few weekends ago, we painted the tables, so let me show you the after...

First up is our newly painted coffee table...I love how it brightens up the room..

That problem chair is now in our family room and this chair is from my daugher.
She's getting ready to move and while she loves this chair, she was happy to sell it to me..
The pillow is made from my tattered quilt...(I think I have enough quilt to make one more pillow.)

Here's the two chairs together with the newly painted table..love it!
Foot stool is from Target(found it on clearance!)
Oh and new lamps from Pier One...thanks DH!!

Next week, I'll show you how the dresser turned out and my wonderful find off eBay...

If you haven't already done so, please check out the giveaway going on right now...

I'm linking to these parties<./a>...

Oh! It looks like you have been having lots of fun in your living room! I love the newly painted coffee table! It looks fab! I have been thinking about painting my coffee table white too! The blue chair you bought from your daughter is terrific and it looks so comfortable too! I hope you have a great rest of the week! Angie xo

Isn't it funny how one change leads to another one? I love how it all turned out.
