Sprucing Up the Bathroom

This weekend seemed to fly by so fast and not all of my projects were completed.

I've had a wood shelf around for a couple of years and thought about hanging it outside but decided to put it up in our bathroom instead.

Here's a picture of our bathroom before we started....

Items from Goodwill: wire shelf & the vintage Jergen's lotion decanter.

Towel bar that holds a towel that we never use..and the cross that doesn't quite seem like it's in the right place.

And a big, white plastic hamper....

When the towel bar came down, it took off some of the sheetrock...

But after a repair to the wall and some touch up paint, the shelf went up with the accesories..

I found this little wicker hamper at Goodwill last year and had it in the laundry room, not being used..I had a wet wash cloth hanging on it so it looks a little off but it's perfect...

The only thing I bought for this sprucing up, is the clock that I got at Target yesterday.

Today's Thrify Treasures

DH and I made our weekly Sunday trip to Goodwill and found some great things...

A bird nest wreath attached to a wire gate...

And two green chairs that fit very nicely in the office.
(Pillow on clearance at Target)

Now I need to find out how much it'll cost to reupholster them.....

Seems like one project always leads to another...

Watering Can Finds at Goodwill

I've had this bakers rack for many, many years. And in that time, it's been in many places - in my home and outside my home. A couple of years ago we got a new patio table and while I really wanted it to be white, we couldn't find a white table.

So this bakers rack didn't really fit in with the new, black table. I decided to spray paint the bakers rack black. But first, I want to show you my collection of watering cans that I got mainly at Goodwill for a couple of dollars.

I looked on the bottom and the $4 price is still there, got this one last year.

And I got this for for $3, can you believe what some people give away?

I got this one last week for $2, the paint is kind of weathered but I don't mind that. Besides, it's going outside at my place too!

This one I just got on Sunday for $1! Kind of dirty and kind of rusty -and the price was right!

The bigger watering can, I got at a rummage many years ago. the smaller one I got off eBay.

And here's my bakers rack now in black with my watering can collection. I think the most expensive one is on the bottom shelf and I got it at Target many years ago. Otherwise, everything else cost a couple of dollars.

Hand Held Mirror Collection

This past weekend was spent working on our yard and getting flowers planted for the nice weather we are finally having...

I thought I'd share some vintage mirrors I've gotten at Goodwill in the past year.

I don't know why I'm attracted to these mirrors, perhaps isn't because they aren't plastic and each very individual in style.

This gold mirror I got yesterday at Goodwill, I never spend more than a couple of dollars.

I love this silver one, which is always in front.

And I also got this cute teapot yesterday at Goodwill. I plan on sealing it up and putting it in the garden.

Today's Thrify Treasures - Kitchen Organizing

This weekend the weather has been really nice and we spent a good portion of Sunday working on the backyard. I'll post lots of pictures later on this week.

I'd like to show you two of my Goodwill finds. I have more but we're exhausted from being working on the yard.

I got this wire coated silverware holder...$2. I got rid of the yellow plastic one I got many years ago as a wedding shower present.

This two tier wire stand, I put my african violets in the bottom and the top is for holding the mail...$3.

Be sure to stop over to Today's Thrifty Treasures to see lots more great finds.
