I thought I was so clever when I planted these petuna's in a coffee can...
But it wasn't exactly what I was picturing in my head..
so found a couple of patriotic pictures
and printed them on iron-on transfer paper.. and ironed them on burlap!
and here's what it looks like on the burlap....
and here it is completed...
I added some wood stars and buttons.....
and wrapped some toile around the top...
I had another coffee can plant that I redone..
Nothing is more American than George Washington..
more button and toile...
And my coffee cans are now what I envisioned....
and best yet, no cost since I had everything on hand.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Fourth of July!
I'm linking to these parties....
Be sure to stop over and join my party going on here...

Terry, I have seen some cute Independence Day decorations on the internet, but I think this project is my favorite. Truly, the burlap-covered cans with the ticking and buttons...they are fantastic!!! ANd the best thing is you had everything on hand to make them. I will probably borrow this idea for a project or two, and definitely give you full credit and a link back to this post.
*love them*

I'm new to "burlap love", but I'm beginning to understand after viewing your current cute patriotic project and earlier projects of yours.
Oh how lovely burlap is. I never thought to iron on a transfer to it - what a great idea. Saw your link at the Sunday Showcase party.

Really great idea. Thanks for sharing. I have burlap and transfer paper, now I just need to figure out exactly what to do with it. You've inspired me though!
