Sundays Seem to Fly By

It's hard to believe how fast today as flown by. We (DH & I) are in the process of getting the garage back in order. We're in the process of bringing things back into the house, we're in the process of getting ready for a rummage and the day flew by.

We had to make a stop at Goodwill and I did find a few things that made me happy...

This red glass container

And this cute Raggedy Ann & Andy picture - I have a friend who collects Raggedy Ann & Andy anything so I know she'll love this.

I also was on the lookout for a lamp for the downstairs..in the moving of things into the garage, one of the lamps got broken. I found a really nice one but it's bras so I'll be spray painting it tomorrow night...

When I was in the backyard, I noticed that somehow a annual flower is growing in the landscaping - nothing else is flowering in the yard - in fact the trees don't even have leaves yet.

Then I also noticed that outside is another annual plant is growing randomly. How strange is this...the weather gets so cold every winter, I wouldn't think these would survive..

I'm going to leave both of them alone, it's pretty quirky...

After all the cleaning up, DH mowed the yard and I made Rhubarb Custard Pie minus the pie crust(I didn't have a pie crust and I really wanted to make this -yummy!)

Rhubarb Custard Pie

3 c rhubarb
2 eggs
2 T milk
1 1/2 c sugar
3 T flour
1/4 t salt
1/4 t nutmeg
1 T butter

Mix all ingredients and place in a pie crust (or not).
Top with crumb topping and then bake at 400 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes

Crumb Topping
1/2 c butter
1/2 c brown sugar
1 c flour

Yummy....well it's back to the grindstone tomorrow...

Mmmmm...that sounds so good! Also, love the little treasures you found. I've never seen that color of spray paint. Are you doing the lamps in that color? I'd love to see the finished project.
